As summer approaches, it's time for all of you that got engaged over the winter holiday to start planning your engagement photos. This is a great time to try out a photographer and see if your personalities match, so that you can hire them for your wedding! Beyond hiring a photographer, there is a bit of planning that goes into engagement shots. You have to think about outfits (for both of you), as well as location, location, location!!
Standard studio portraits have long-since passed, it's time to get outside and show off some personality. Choosing your location(s) is a crucial part of planning your session. A great photographer has a pocketful of great photo opp places. Work with your photographer to find a few places that contain a lot of unique backdrops and really aligns with your personalities.
One of the key things I look for… architecture! Finding a space or place that has various architectural pieces adds a lot to a photo shoot. Here is a prime example sent my way by Kristin Hornberger Photography of Sarah and Derrin. The shots were taken at a family farm in Indiana, a great local for so many backdrops that include great architecture.
