I got cards, free bags, coupons, and met some really great people.
Also, some bridal shows (maybe most?) have a fashion show at the end, with beautiful dresses and some great designers that you can find locally. It was so much fun!
If you choose to go to a bridal show… here are some tips:
1st – Be prepared to walk. You are walking around, meeting vendors, meeting brides, and hanging out with your friends (or family). You are constantly moving and a lot of walking.
2nd – Make labels. Before you go, make about 30-40 labels with your name, address, phone or email to drop off at vendors’ “give away” stations. I swear, my hand almost fell off I wrote my name so many times!
3rd – Choose a few Specific categories. I really wanted to meet some cake vendors and some photographers. So I made sure to hit all of their tables for sure. I didn’t necessarily need to talk bridal accessories or honeymoon trips, so I skipped some of those tables to make sure I hit the ones I really wanted.
(Also keep in mind, you may hit all tables no matter what b/c of the way the show is designed. But you may not have enough time to talk in detail to everyone, so be careful if you get there later in the day.)
Bridal shows are very tiring, so my advice (for what it’s worth) is don’t take 10 people with you. Take 1 or 2. You don’t want to be tired from all the walking and talking, and then also be tired with tracking down all the people you came with. 🙂
You will have so much fun!!!! I hope everyone takes the opportunity to check one out!
