Capturing the moment
Whether it's a week after your wedding, or maybe on your 50th wedding anniversary, you'll want to flip through your wedding photos and relive your wedding day to the very last detail. To capture the day perfectly, you need the right photographers and videographers at your wedding, so hire professionals. No matter how handy your friends or relatives are with a camera, only an experienced wedding professional can deliver the desired results. Anyone can point and click, but a professional will have an experienced eye for lighting, composition, and angles. Pros are also adept at editing techniques that can enhance the beauty of your photos and videos.
Hire your photographer six to 12 months in advance. Visit their studio, review their portfolio, and discuss all the details of their rates and availabilities. A professional should know when and where to take the best photos, but you may have additional photo requests, so be sure to express your ideas clearly. The photographer should review photo and lighting restrictions with your venues, as some houses of worship will not allow extraneous lighting during the ceremony.
When you factor your photographer and your videographer into your budget, remember that their rates will depend on the number of cameras they will have to use, the number of assistants they will need, the time they will spend shooting, and the time they will spend editing your final products. Hiring professionals may cost more than the average guest with a disposable camera, but it's certainly worth it.
