Their Romance...
Chris had a crush on Robin for a while before she decided to give him a try. The two met through Chris’ brother and Robin’s best friend, who are now engaged to each other. Their first date included a night out for Chris’ 21st birthday, where they made it known to everyone they were a couple.
“We were secretly into each other, so when everyone spotted us holding hands and kissing on the dance floor, our secret came out,” Robin says.
Although Chris and Robin fell in love quickly after that first date, they wanted to wait until they could have their dream wedding before getting engaged.
After a few years of dating and living together, Chris proposed. One Friday evening, as they were preparing to go out to dinner, Chris called out to Robin from the kitchen. He asked her if she’d made her decision yet. Robin thought he was talking about where they were going to eat.
“Yeah, I told you I wanted to go to Houlihan’s for dinner,” Robin answered.
“No, I mean the other decision,” Chris responded.
Robin walked into the kitchen and couldn’t believe her eyes.
“He was down on one knee,” she recalls. “He said, ‘I mean the decision about whether you want to be my wife.’
“I said, ‘Are you kidding me?’ Then came the tears, and of course, my answer, YES.”

Their Wedding...
Rustic branches, leaves and other natural elements set a charming tone for Robin and Chris’ wedding at Wheaton’s Danada House.
Several vintage touches also were incorporated throughout the big day. Robin’s bouquet was a replica of the one her grandmother carried in the 1930’s. The cascading arrangement featured yellow mums, black dahlias and chocolate cosmos. Bridesmaids carried lovely pomanders boasting similar blooms and small branches peeking out of each ball.
Robin’s La Sposa dupioni silk, dropped waist a-line gown featured a ruched bodice and an asymmetrically draped skirt. Silk bridal buttons adorned the back of the gown, with a large silk bow at the bottom of the zipper to complete her dramatic look.
The natural theme continued at the reception with tree branch centerpieces, colorful flowers and different levels of cylinder vases. Black satin ribbons with amber tea lights dangled from the branches.
“My favorite detail of Danada House are the hanging pendant lights which reflect off the surrounding glass windows like stars,” the bride says.
In addition to a dinner of Italian cuisine, guests were treated to a late-night snack of Taco Bell.
After dinner, Robin made a second grand entrance in a new dress designed by a family friend. The off-the shoulder lace sheath reception gown featured a sweep train and a breathtaking ivory ribbon sash.
“Everyone kept saying I just couldn’t stop smiling,” Robin says. “When everyone asked how I was doing all I could say is that I was, ‘oozing love.’”
