Directionally Perfect
Perhaps the most useful item in today’s modern wedding invitation package is that of a map. Including a map will allow your guests peace of mind when making their way to all the different locales involved in your wedding day festivities.
They are especially valuable to any out-of-town guests.
When creating the map to will include with your invitation, the image featured must be clearly marked. Always use text with the directions to compliment the image map. Include written directions that may include local landmarks to help guests along the way, especially in rural areas or neighborhoods that are newly-developed and lightly-marked with road signs. You may want to include the addresses and phone numbers of the church and reception site on the map page itself in case someone gets lost.
Many times your reception venue will have maps that you can use as a starting point for your wedding day directions. Beware of using maps from online services unless you have personally checked out the route yourself. Make sure to proofread your map for errors just as you would your invitations.
Check the paper on which you are printing or copying the map so that it not only coordinates with your invitation ensemble, but also is able to be printed on without the image becoming distorted. Ask your invitation specialist about special papers that will work well with your invitation design.
