Celebration of vows
Though the majority of couples choose to marry in a house of worship, many couples are opting for less conventional settings. You may want to consider hosting your ceremony at your family home, perhaps in the backyard. You may want to consider a beach setting or a ceremony on the water. You might want to consider hosting your wedding at an art gallery or a museum, a banquet hall, or at a historical site.
Couples of different faiths may choose a non-denominational venue site, such as a hotel or mansion,a garden or conservatory, or another location where both faiths can be equally represented. Chicago has a wide variety of spectacular ceremony locations that can accommodate every type of couple, any type of style, and all types of beliefs.
In addition to where you exchange your vows, how you style, and structure your ceremony is equally important. Once upon a time, there were only two ceremony options: a civil service or a religious ceremony. Now, couples are opting for more modern ceremonies, combining the formality of religious or cultural traditions with their own individual.
However you want to celebrate your union, you should be able to find a ceremony style that represents your relationship and your beliefs. If you need extra help structuring your ceremony, your officiant should be able to provide guidance, as he or she will have experience conducting multiple types of ceremonies. Whatever location or format you choose for your ceremony, your love and commitment to each other should stand out the most on your wedding day, so let that be your guide.
